The highly anticipated iOS tablet, Apple iPad 2 went on sale in 25 countries on last Friday. According to many tech blogs, iPad 2 will be available at 500 RadioShack locations from March 29th in the U.S., and all the locations have already been informed. From March 29, RadioShack joins the other iPad 2 retailers Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target Corp, and the entire stock may sell out just as quick. There is no word on how many units each store might receive.
As the online orders taking up to 3 weeks for iPad 2 delivery, this move by Apple to provide one more retailer availability is worth noting. Radio Shack’s website is already featuring the iPad 2 product page. RadioShack said it will sell the iPad 2 at the same prices that Apple already offers. Radioshack is currently selling out the Apple iPod and AT&T branded iPhone. There is no confirmation about the further distribution plans for the iPad 2 with any additional partners. The iPad 2 went on sale in the U.S. from March 11 and both the AT&T and Verizon carriers started selling the device.
Apple iPad 2 runs with iOS 4.3 on an Apple A5 processor, dual core CPU, 2x CPU speed, 9x graphics speed improvement and sporting a 9.7-inch screen with 1024-by-768-pixel resolution, equipped with a rear camera with 5x digital zoom and 720p HD video recording and an aditiona VGA front-facing camera, Gryoscope, Wi-Fi, 3G, 32GB / 64GB / 16GB memory storage, FaceTime, Garage Band and iMovie apps, 1080p HD video output, SmartCovers and more.
