Remember the entry-level phone Samsung Gem, which is available for Free by Alltel Wireless. The U.S.Cellular is now selling it with a price tag of $29.99 after an $80 mail-in-rebate, pre-installed with Android 2.2 Froyo instead of the Android 2.1 Eclair.

The Samsung Gem is an Android-powered device, having some notable specifications, including the out-dated Android 2.2 Froyo, 800MHz processor, sporting a 3.2 inch WQVGA touch screen display, equipped with a 3.2 Megapixels camera, 50/1900MHz CDMA connectivity, social networking integration on Samsung Hub, 124MB internal memory, micro-SD card slot support for 16GB memory storage, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity, powered by 1500mAh battery, Android Market and the full host of the Google, Samsung and the U.S.Cellular services.

Samsung Gem with US Cellular can also expect to get a 4GB micro-SD card included in the box.
