As expected, at the BlackBerry World event in Orlando, Research in Motion has finally announced the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 smartphones, which have been leaking since several months in the wild.

The new BlackBerry Bold 9900 comes with HSPA+ 4G capability for 14.4 Mbps download speeds to run under AT&T and T-Mobile networks, while the BlackBerry Bold 9930 is a world phone with quad-band GSM and dual-band CDMA capabilities to run under Sprint and Verizon networks.

BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 was built with a brushed stainless steel frame and a high-gloss glass-weave back and comes with new BlackBerry OS 7 to support HTML 5, BlackBerry Balance support, enhanced universal search, voice-activated search, a new Just-In-Time (JIT) JavaScript engine to the browser, and a new “Liquid Graphics” theme.

BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 is featuring a 2.8-inch "Liquid Graphics" VGA screen, 1.2GHz Snapdragon application processor inside, embedded with NFC chip for mobile payments, and brings support for Augmented Reality applications.

It is also having a 5-megapixel flash-equipped camera,which is capable of 720p HD video recording capability, 768MB RAM, and 8GB of internal storage and scope for 32GB memory expansion.

As said above, the 9900 supports HSPA+ connectivity, the 9930 features full support for CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and HSPA+ global roaming on GSM/UMTS networks and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.

Price & Availability

Both the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Bold 9930 smartphone are scheduled to release this “summer”. No official word on price details yet.
