A few days back, RIM just left the cat out of the bag and yesterday announced a software upgrade for its first ever tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook. RIM’s Playbook will be having some interesting dedicated apps – Video Chat, FaceBook, and BlackBerry Messenger. Having all the best specifications, and its powerful hardware, it will give tough competition to the tablet winner Apple iPad 2 and the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which is the world’s slimmest tablet at present.

RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook built with QNX based BlackBerry tablet OS, sporting a 7 inch LCD display, 5MP rear camera, 3MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n + WiMax (4G), Wi-Fi + LTE, Wi-Fi + HSPA+ capabilities, 1080p HD Video Playback Capability, 16GB / 32GB / 64GB memory storage and powered by a dual-core 1GHz Cortex A9-based processor.
