Android 2.4 Version Ice Cream Sandwich Confirmed!

With Google I/O event on the cards, everyone is looking forward to about the launch of the next big Android version (Android 2.4). Though we are not sure what the next version of the Search Engine giant’s mobile operating system might offer, we are just almost certain about its name, the Ice Cream Sandwich. The name has first popped when Andy Rudin, considered as the ‘father of Android’ officially disclosed the same at TechCrunch. Later Eric Schmidt also confirmed that the next Android release would be named with starting letter “i” and it was then almost clear that either ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ or ‘Ice Cream’ would be the name. And now we can lock it on the ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ name as it is mentioned by none other than a Google Employee working on the Android 2.4.

The name was slipped from a Google Employee (with screen name ‘Romain Guy) when he was responding to an issue reported by a user at the Android project hub page code discussions. He didn’t however mention any other details except the name. To know what’s actually there in the Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, you will have to wait until May 10, 2011 that’s when the Google I/O event is going to start.
