Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Heading To Verizon On May 26th?

The Verizon’s new online catalog has revealed that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is ‘coming soon’ to Verizon Wireless. Could it be on May 26th? Well the trusted sources are saying that first PlayStation certified Android powered smartphone Xperia Play is set to grace the U.S. markets on May 26th. HTC Trophy also listed on the same catalog, marked with the ‘coming soon’ tag and it is being heard that the Verizon’s HTC Trophy will launch on May12th. So these sources are hinting us that these handsets might be released on the same dates as suggested by rumors.

O2 Germany has also confirmed that it will launch the Xperia Play (including the white version) in early June, but sadly, we are not hearing any exact details regarding the exact release date in the U.S. and we’re still waiting for the official info on the US release of the phone.

Sony Ericsson Xperi Play will feature Android 2.3, and will be able to play games via the PlayStation Suite, sporting a 4” 854×480 screen, running on a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, equipped with a 5 Megapixels camera and an additional front-facing camera, PSP like gaming buttons on the side sliding board, 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n connectivity, 512MB RAM, 400MB internal memory, 8GB micro-SD card inserted, scope for memory expansion up to 32GB, Android Market and more.

There will be 50 titles expected to be available at launch and the phone will come pre-installed with Asphalt Adrenaline 6, Bruce Lee, Star Battalion, The Sims 3, and Tetris games.
