Dell has released it’s first Windows Phone 7 powered smartphone Dell Venue Pro for AT&T network.
With it’s portrait-sliding QWERTY form device, Dell Venue Pro has impressed most of the people and made them early waiting for this phone to get their hands on and grab it. It is being heard that the current owners of this handset are facing some issues using the Dell Venue Pro.
Packed in slightly curved unique design, Dell Venue Pro is sporting a 4.1-inch AMOLED display, running on a Qualcomm 1GHz processor with Adreno 200 GPU for graphics, 5 megapixels camera with LED flash, 720p HD video recording, 16GB memory storage, 512MB RAM. Venue Pro comes preloaded with the ‘Dell Stage’ user interface that aims at facilitating a richer user experience and it has got Xbox LIVE, Windows Phone 7 Live Tiles keep priorities in focus, Bing for search, and Zune for music, video and a whole host of Windows Phone 7, AT&T services, along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, A-GPS, and micro-USB support.
As usual, this handset doesn’t support to expand the memory storage. But thanks to xda-developers, you can buy the cheapest 8GB model and turn it into 32GB model by following the below steps.
- Open Settings-> About menu in phone
- Tap on “reset”
- Tap “yes” twice. The phone will start to reboot.
- Wait until the phone shuts down and begins to reboot, and take the battery out. NOTE: If you take out the battery too early, it will not work correctly. I waited until I first saw the Dell logo pop up and then pulled the battery, and that worked.
- Remove the old SD card (I used a very small eyeglass screwdriver to gently pry it out since it isn’t spring loaded)
- Put in new card, replace battery, restart phone
- Go through the setup process
