Amazon is now offering the Kyocera Echo smartphone for just $119.99 with a new two-year Sprint agreement, which is currently available for $199.99 with the same two-year contract by Sprint. That means it is $80 cheaper than the carrier’s original pricing.
Kyocera Echo won’t be working on Sprint’s faster 4G WiMax network. The handset will be able to use the touchscreens in four possible ways: Optimized Mode, Tablet Mode, Single-Screen Mode, and Simul-Task Mode
The Kyocera Echo is the Sprint’s first dual-screened smartphone ever and it is world’s first ever dual-screen Android smartphone. It runs Android 2.2 with a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU and 512MB RAM. There is around 500MB of onboard storage available, which is supplemented by the 8GB micro-SD card that comes preinstalled. It is sporting two 3.5" WVGA displays. When put together, this creates a surface of 960×800 resolution and 4.7" in total, giving it a near-tablet size and resolution. The device equipped with a 5 megapixels camera that can record video in 720p, also has 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, and CDMA with EVDO Rev A connectivity, an accelerometer, a light sensor, and proximity sensor, Android Market, the whole host of Google & Sprint services, and powered by a 1370mAh battery, but you also get a secondary spare battery of the same capacity as well along with a portable battery.
