We’ve been dreaming about the Android Ice Cream Sandwich‘s final release since we heard about its official announcement at this year’s Google I/O event and the final version is set to release later this year. It has been almost a year since Google Android 2.2 Froyo’s release and unfortunately, the U.S. Cellular branded LG Apex is still running on Android 2.1 Eclair. Froyo update for LG Apex was supposed to hit in this March, but it was delayed.
Finally, the owners of the LG Apex can now download the long-awaited Android 2.2 Froyo update (Software Version US740ZV5) on their handsets. As usual, U.S. Cellular isn’t rolling out an OTA update. So you need a Windows PC to update your Apex handset with Froyo manually.
