Official: HTC Flyer Wi-Fi Hitting Best Buy Shelves On May 22nd

During early May, Best Buy has already started taking the pre-orders for Android powered HTC Flyer but haven’t specified any details of release date. But we knew that it was supposed to be hitting the markets in late May. Now Best Buy has officially announced that HTC Flyer would be releasing on May 22nd. While a definitive price has yet to be announced officially, the webpage of online pre-sale has already revealed the $500 price tag on their website as of now.

HTC Flyer is missing the tablet optimized Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS, and will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread flavored with the tablet version of HTC Sense. It should be noted that if you have something to note that HTC has officially confirmed that it will upgrade the Flyer with Honeycomb shortly after the launch.

HTC Flyer with Stylus

The 7-inch Flyer’s display is 1024 x 600 pixel of resolution, and running with 1.5GHz single-core processor complemented with 1GB RAM, LED flash equipped 5 megapixel camera around its back, and an additional front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video chats, 32GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, HDMI-out, and powered by 4,000mAh battery.

It’s not yet confirmed that if it will ship out with a Stylus packed in it or not, which would allow users to take advantage of unique Scribe technology. However, the Stylus is expected to come with a price tag of $80. There are still not many apps available that take advantage of the digital pen’s full capabilities on this Android tablet. You might be already aware that a 10-inch HTC Puccini (not yet confirmed) with Honeycomb juice filled on it is expected to hit the AT&T markets in the near future possibly with LTE capability and the highly awaited and the world’s thinner tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb Wi-Fi edition tablet is set to release on June 8th with a price tag of $499 for a 16GB model and $599 for the 32GB variant. T-mobile is going to release the HTC Flyer in the coming months, according to the leaked promos.
