After all the rumors that were making rounds about the software issues and bugs of T-Mobile G2X handset, T-Mobile made an official statement: "G2X has been a highly popular device, and the high demand has resulted in inventory constraints". According to a leaked memo sent to TMo News, T-Mobile is planning to rise the price value of the T-Mobile G2X, “due to inventory constraints” and the new price is going to be set as $249.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate. That means starting May 27th (if the above screenshot’s statement are to be believed), you will need to pay out a $299.99 in-store for the new T-Mobile G2X. There are concerns that the high price of the T-Mobile G2X may be a setback to many would be buyers comparing with the old pricing $199.99 of the G2X on contract with the carrier. Of course, we’ve some price discount offers from Amazon, Wirefly, and RadioShack. There is no word about how long the price rise will be considered.

Previously, T-Mobile has also bumped the pricing of its Samsung Galaxy S 4G ($149.99 to $199.99), G2, and myTouch 4G handsets after launch. Just a few hours ago, we’ve reported that T-Mobile G2X will be getting the Gingerbread update by this summer. T-Mobile is yet to announce the exact date for the new software update release date. G2X comes with 1GHz NVidia dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 4-inch WVGA display, HSPA+ radio supporting up to 21Mbps speeds, NVidia Tegra 2 optimized games, 8GB of on board memory, 8MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, capable of recording HD video at 1080p, 1.3 megapixel rear-facing camera for video calls, HDMI out with 1080p HD video playback capability, Android Market, and much more.
