Apple’s productivity apps suite iWork has been available for iPad for more than a year. Apple has now decided to launch the application suite for the users of iPhone and iPod Touch. iWork includes three productivity apps viz., Keynote, Pages and Numbers. These apps are originally designed for Mac and later were completely redesigned for iOS (iPad only) Multi-touch interface.
iWork was originally introduced for iPad when the tablet was first launched in April 2010. The apps Keynote, Pages and Numbers let the users to create and edit word processing, presentations, spreadsheets and documents using the iOS multi-touch interface. These apps worked seamlessly on the iPad. Apple has now decided to make the suite available for smaller screen iPhone and iPod Touch devices, using which users can import, edit and export documents for iWork for Mac and Microsoft Office for PC. The apps will have the same features as that of the iPad versions. The suite will also let you to take print the documents wirelessly using AirPrint technology and also included Apple’s built-in themes and templates. All the apps will show thumbnails of the documents making it easier to find, organize and group them.
Each app of the iWork suite will cost you $9.99 and you can download it for free if you have earlier purchased the suite on your iPad. Apple has also mentioned that the iWork suite will only be available to third generation and fourth generation iPod Touch devices as well as for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.
