It was expected to start shipping today, but only the Samsung Chromebook has been started. There are no words yet on when the Acer Cromia will be shipping. Though it is hoped that not much delay will be there in shipping the Acer Chromebook.
The Samsung Series 5 Chromebook has been started shipping from both Amazon and BestBuy today. The stores are now showing In Stock for the Chromebook. The Samsung Series 5 Chromebook features a 12.1 inch display, powered by an Intel® Core™2 Duo N570 1.66Ghz Processor, HD Webcam etc.This Chromebook also promises <10 second startup and 8.5 hours of continuous usage.
In a move to promote the lesser priced Acer Cromia, Amazon has discounted the 3G version. We have noticed a discount of $20 on the Chromebook. The Acer Cromia Chromebook features an 11.6 inch display, powered by a dual-core Intel Atom Processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB SSD, 1.3-megapixel HD webcam, HD audio support, WiFi, 3G, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 HDMI port, memory card slot, and a battery life of 6 hours. Note that the discount and the price can always be changed as this is a discount from Amazon, and not from Acer.
