Motorola Droid Bionic Hits FCC With 4G LTE Radios?

Motorola Droid Bionic leaked image

Well, we know what all the saga about the Motorola Droid Bionic is. It was initially announced by Motorola only to confess later that they had some issues with the design and hardware of the phone, which lead to the device being delayed and cancelled. However Motorola later clarified that the device would be coming with a new form factor. And the recent leaks of the images of the phone and the NenaMark benchmark results are the clear indications of that while a tweet from Motorola last week has once again confirmed that the device is indeed coming very soon (in this summer?).

And today a new Motorola smartphone has passed through the FCC’s approval process bearing EVDO and LTE 700MHz radios, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi b/g/n and inductive charging battery cover. It could very well be the Motorola Droid Bionic. How can we guess that? Simple. We haven’t heard of any other Motorola device supporting Verizon’s LTE network, other than the Motorola Droid Bionic. Not that we are completely ruling out the case where it could be a new unknown device, but we’re just trying to correlate this with what we already knew.

Another interesting point here is that the photos and the user manual of the phone are hidden under confidentiality agreement which will not expire until August 7th. While this doesn’t directly imply anything significant, however we need to make note of the date here. The Motorola Droid 3 is set for July 7th launch, and could it be that Moto is going to follow it up with the big release of Droid Bionic in August?
