Cisco System’s enterprise-centric tablet Cisco Cius was announced in June 2010 and has been in the news for quite sometime without any indications of the possible release date and pricing details. And now it looks like things are finally falling in the line for the tablet with Verizon announcing that the tablet will be launched sometime later this summer with 4G LTE support for the Verizon’s network. The tablet was earlier picked up by AT&T with support for its HSPA+ 4G network.
Cisco Cius Android tablet packs a 7-inch display, runs Android 2.2 Froyo OS, powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, a front facing camera that supports 720p HD video chat conferencing for business users, 32GB of on board storage, 4G LTE connectivity, access to Cisco’s own AppHQ apps market, HD media station, 10/100/1000 Mbps local area wired connectivity, a microSD card slot, HDMI-out, mini-USB port, Bluetooth. The tablet’s detachable battery can last up to 8 hours. The tablet will integrate popular Cisco products like TelePresence, WebEx, Quad and Jabber.
Price And Availability:
Verizon should be launching this device by the end of summer. However, there is still no official word on the pricing, but we think it could be somewhere around $750.
