MertoPCS customers must have been waiting for the first Android Gingerbread powered handset, but the carrier has recently launched another Froyo powered Huawei M835 handset. Late yesterday, a set of live images of an announced handset have leaked online, which is having the model number as SCH-R720, and it will indeed be the first Gingerbread phone offering from the prepaid giant MetroPCS under the name of Samsung Admire. Unfortunately, the Samsung Admire isn’t having the high-end specifications, and an up-to-date hardware. It’s just a mid-range spec’d Android phone, which is coming with an affordable budget price tag.

There is no word on the launch details and the price info of the Samsung Admire handset yet. But the source is saying that the handset will hit the markets with price tag of $149.99 after a $50 instant rebate, and it is rumored slated for August or September release.
