Asus Eee Pad Transformer Gets Android 3.2 Honeycomb Update

A couple of days ago, Asus has confirmed the Android 3.2 Honeycomb update roll out release date as July 28th for the Honeycomb powered Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet. It is here now. Asus has started pushing out the Android 3.2 Honeycomb update for the most popular Eee Pad Transformer tablet. This update will give the Eee Pad Android 3.2, the long-awaited point release to Honeycomb that is supposed to bring many new changes to the Honeycomb platform, including the zoom or strech feature to fill screen for non-Honeycomb applications, and compatibility to full SD card support. In early June, the Eee Pad was upgraded to Android 3.1 Honeycomb, which is a huge update to Android 3.0.

The Android 3.2 Honeycomb Highlights:

  • >> Optimizations for a wider range of tablets – Android 3.2 includes a variety of optimizations across the system to ensure a great user experience on a wider range of tablet devices.
  • >> Compatibility zoom for fixed-sized apps – A new compatibility zoom mode that gives users a new way to view fixed-sized apps on larger devices, providing a pixel-scaled alternative to the standard UI stretching for apps that are not designed to run on larger screen sizes, such as on tablets.
  • >> Media sync from SD card – Users can now load media files directly from the SD card to apps that use them, and ability making the files accessible to apps from the system media store.

If you are facing trouble to get android 3.1, it can thereafter be downloaded manually by going to “Settings > About Tablet > System Updates,” and we are always recommending you to take a full back-up of the tablet before any update installation.

It’s still unclear if the update is rolling out in batches or if it’s available to be pulled but whatever the case may be, it’s rolling out and that’s all that matters, and an over-the-air Android 3.2 Honeycomb update awaiting the lucky Asus Eee Pad Transformers owners. Don’t forget to check the Settings tab –> About Tablet –> for the updated version of the Android OS. Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi users have already got access to the update earlier this month. Thanks to it being Google’s launch device for Honeycomb, but Asus isn’t left behind. Verizon branded Motorola Xoom 3G owners have to receive the Android 3.2 update for their tablets.
