BlackBerry Bold 9930, Torch 9850 To Hit Sprint On August 21st

A few hours ago, we told about a leaked press shot of the Sprint branded BlackBerry Bold 9930 smartphone, and we’ve also reported  that its possible release date could be August 21st. Well, this date can be confirmed as the official release date for the BB Bold 9930 handset. RIM’s newly introduced first full touchscreen BlackBerry device, the BlackBerry Torch 9850 is also hitting the Sprint air waves on the same date, along with BB Bold 9930. Two separate leaked promotional memos from Sprint Playbook have revealed that the BlackBerry Bold 9930, and Torch 9850 will be arriving on August 21st. Earlier this month, the third largest US carrier Sprint has already announced that it would be launching these handsets, but the details about the release date and price tag were missing from the official announcement. But wait, we’ve also got price listings here. The BlackBerry Bold 9930 will cost you $249.99 on a two-year contract, and $499.99 will be its full retail price. BlackBerry Torch 9850 will be priced at a reasonable value for $149.99 after $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract, the full retail price is $449.99.

Both the BlackBerry Torch 9850, and the Bold 9930 handsets will come filled with BlackBerry 7 OS, featuring 1.2GHz processor, 768MB RAM, 1230mAh battery, 5MP camera, 720p HD video recording capability, world phone capability, and all other regular features like Wi-Fi, microUSB, microSD card slot to hold 32GB memory storage, and much more. BlackBerry Bold 9930 has got RIM’s traditional QWERTY keyboard, 2.8-inch capacitive touch screen display at 640 X 480 pixels of resolution, 8GB internal memory storage. BlackBerry Torch 9850 has got 3.7-inch 800 X 480 full touchscreen display and 4GB internal memory storage on the board.
