HTC Puccini Vs. HTC Flyer

HTC Puccini Vs. HTC Flyer

Tablets are a new way of computing. The tablet wars have just heated up immensely these days for sure. It’s so difficult to choose the right tablet based on your needs, and price range. Every tablet is having its own great quality. Well, the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is yet to launch its first 10-inch Android OS powered tablet, codenamed the HTC Puccini. The 7-inch Android OS powered HTC Flyer is the first tablet from the maker, which has already released. The outer screen/display is large in HTC Puccini. It’s so early to decide the differences between these two tablets, as the HTC Puccini isn’t unveiled yet, but let me compare these both brothers for you to decide which tablet you should to go for, when Puccini gets official announcement from HTC.

Operating System

Both the HTC Puccini and the HTC Flyer runs Android OS. The bigger HTC Puccini comes pre-installed with tablet optimized operating system Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS, the version of Google’s software that’s been built specifically for tablets, but the HTC Flyer is still happily running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread OS skinned with its own Sense user interface. We’re still looking forward to the Flyer’s Honeycomb upgrade. That’s because there’s a possibility that the 7-inch Android tablets can be upgradable to Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, which is tailored version of the Android 3.1.

Display

HTC Puccini will be having a bigger 10-inch touchscreen display , while the HTC Flyer has managed to come up with just a 7-inch screen. Puccini has got a higher screen resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels than the Flyer’s 1024 X 600 pixels of resolution. Rather than just taking the safe route of using Google’s new Honeycomb tablet operating system, HTC has redeveloped its neat Sense user experience for both these larger tablet displays. HTC Flyer Tablet combines natural touch and pen interaction. HTC Puccini will also having the capability of operating with the help of HTC Stylus.

Processor

HC Puccini is a way ahead than the HTC Flyer in this case, as it is coming with a powerful dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz speed, while the HTC Flyer has got a single-core 1.5GHz processor. But we should not forget that Android isn’t 100% ready for dual-core just yet. However, most of you would tempt towards a dual-core processor than a single-core processor, while purchasing any tablet..right?

RAM

HTC Flyer has got a full gigabyte of RAM to speed up the device, but we are not sure about the RAM capacity for HTC Puccini. We guess it will be also equipped with a 1GB RAM, to make it a fast, well provisioned tablet machine indeed.

Camera

HTC Flyer is having a rear-facing 5 megapixels camera with LED flash to record 720p videos, which is paired up with an additional front-facing 1.3 megapixels camera to forwarding video chats. HTC Puccini will be having an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash, which we guess is capable of recording 1080p HD videos. We are not yet sure about the front-facing camera of the Puccini.

Battery

HTC Flyer’s 4000mAh battery is far less impressive. The Flyer’s official specs figures you’ll get 4 hours of video playback time, but the Puccini tablet’s battery life hasn’t ben revealed out yet. But we can say that it will provide video playback time of up to 10 hours.

Conclusion

Both the tablets belong to the same company HTC, so there is no doubt about getting low quality Android tablet. Both the Tablets are amazingly beautiful and powerful too. HTC Puccini is said to be having the LTE 4G connectivity on the board, while the HTC Flyer is having 3G connectivity only. With the Puccini offering fresher software, a new refreshed user interface and the bigger display, what does the Flyer have to offer? HTC Flyer is good but not better than HTC Puccini.
