Sony Tablet S Up For Pre-Order in U.S. For $499; Releasing On September 16th

A few days ago, Sony has confirmed one of its Android tablet as Sony Tablet S (formerly known as Sony S1), which has already available for pre-order in Canada. Sony has also started offering the pre-orders for the U.S. citizens from today. The Sony Tablet S is scheduled for U.S. release on September 16th, while the Canadians will get it starting September 23rd. The prices of the Sony Tablet S for both the 16GB and 32GB models fall in line with other similar offerings. It will come in two Wi-Fi-only flavors (no 3G or 4G connectivity), one with 16GB of internal memory priced at $499.99 and one with 32GB carrying a $599.99 price tag.

Sony Tablet S features a 9.4-inch Sony’s brilliant TruBlack display with 1280 X 800 pixels of resolution, powered by a 1Ghz dual-core processor inside the device, 0.3 megapixel VGA camera occupies at front side to make video calls, a 5 megapixel on the back side and it runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS with Sony UI touches. It is also having Bluetooth 2.1, micro SD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, micro USB, 802.11 Wi-Fi b/g/n, Sony Entertainment Network with Music Unlimited, an infrared transmitter and DLNA compatibility for wirelessly sending images and video. And this is one of the world’s first PlayStation certified Android tablet along with the Sony Tablet P, which is having dual touchscreen displays.
