Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 shipping

Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 which have been launched (along with Nokia 600) towards the end of last month, have started shipping according to a tweet from Nokia. These are the newly launched Symbian Belle OS powered handsets that Nokia intends to release so as to keep the brand Symbian afloat as the launch of the Nokia’s first ever Windows Phone is fast approaching.

Nokia 700, Nokia’s smallest ever smartphone sports a 3.2-inch ClearBlack AMOLED touchscreen display (Gorilla Glass), a 1GHz application processor, under 10mm thickness, 512MB RAM, 2GB of internal memory, microSD card support up to 32GB of memory expansion, 5 megapixel rear camera with support for HD video recording, NFC support, GPS, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB 2.0, 1080mAh battery etc.

Nokia 701 comes with a bigger 3.5-inch IPS LCD display (with ClearBlack technology) which has been given ‘the brightest display in the world’ tag, 1GHz processor, 8GB of internal memory, 8 megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, VGA front-facing camera for video calls, NFC capability and all other features similar to Nokia 700.

Well, although Nokia announced that these two phones have already started shipping, however we don’t yet know when exactly they are going to hit the markets. We expect them to be available for purchase before the end of this month (which in other words means the end of Q3).
