Dual-display Samsung Continuum to hit Verizon on Nov 11 for $200

Samsung has confirmed the World’s smart phone with ‘Ticker’ display, Samsung Continuum. It will be available for pre-orders from November 11th. Samsung Continuum powered with out-dated Android 2.1 OS Eclair. But Samsung has assured it will be updated rapidly but we don’t have confirmation if it will get Android 2.2 upgrade or the upcoming Android 2.2(Gingerbread) upgrade.

The most interesting feature of Continuum is its secondary display, designed with a dedicated ticker display, which is touch capable below the capacitive touch buttons. While the primary screen is being actively used, incoming messages, news, sports will be alerting on this ticker display with the help of unique ‘Grip Sensor’. “Grip sensor” lets you touch the bottom sides of the phone to light up the ticker.

Samsung Continuum will include a 3.4-inch touch screen Super AMOLED main display and a customizable 1.8-inch Super AMOLED dedicated ticker display, 1GHz Hummingbird Application Processor, 5 Megapixels camera with 720p video recording capability, Swype integration, virtual Qwerty keyboard, DLNA compliant. It will be carrying 8GB pre-installed microSD card with memory expansion support up to 32GB.

It also features Six-axis sensor, Wi-Fi connectivity, Samsung’s social Hub, and Verizon’s services such as V CAST Music with Rhapsody, V CAST Video on Demand, Visual Voice Mail, V CAST Tones, VZ Navigator and Bing Search and Maps, Blockbuster Application.

Price & Availability

Samsung Continuum will be available for pre-sales at Verizon Online stores and retail stores by November 11th pricing $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and and can be purchase in stores from Nov 18th.

Looks like Verizon is bringing more smartphones this month, Motorola’s DROID Pro, DROID 2 Global are also in line to grab by users.
