[Download] Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Update For Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Play and Neo Available Now

In late May, Sony Ericsson has announced that it will be upgrading its entire Xperia portfolio of this year with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update in October, but it looks like they’re already on their way to Xperia handset’s users now. Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update is now available for Sony Ericsson Xperia arc, Xperia Play and Xperia neo handsets. Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro handsets’ owners have to wait till the update roll out.

The new version of the Android platform for Xperia handsets will bring features like video chat in Google Talk, the possibility to take screenshots, an updated Voice Search, Swype’s virtual keyboard (not for Xperia Play, as it is already having a QWERTY keyboard), the latest version of Google Books,playlist control, automatic screen brightness, new power-up animations and more. Both the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and Neo handsets’ regular 2D camera now can capture 3D pictures with the help of the new 3D Panorama software. The update also brings a set of enhancements to the "Facebook Inside Xperia" feature, which will let you to sync your social media with other aspects of your phone, such as contacts, calendar, and photo gallery.

The users should head over to Menu –> Settings –> About Phone –> System Updates –> Download –> tap Install Now button. Installation should start now if there is any update is waiting for your handset. The version numbers of the Xperia arc, Play and new handsets should be bumped from 4.0.A.2.368 to 4.0.1.A.0.283 and you will be upgraded to Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS to enjoy all the aforementioned features.
