Amazon To Unveil Kindle Fire Tablet On September 28th; To Ship In November

Amazon Kindle Fire Mockup

Amazon, as rumored last week, will be going to announce a new Android tablet, purportedly named as “Amazon Kindle Fire”. According to TechCrunch, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos will show off the working model of the Amazon Kindle Fire on stage on September 28th, even though the actual sale of the tablet is expected to start only in the second week of November.

It looks like the 7-inch tablet which includes a backlit display unlike the e-ink Amazon Kindle reader, was designed by Quanta, the same design manufacturer that was associated with BlackBerry’s PlayBook. For the very same reason, TechCrunch claims that the Kindle Fire tab almost looks like a shortened version of the RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook.

A new tablet? Will this be a game changer? We doubt it, but with the rumors that the publishers providing content in the form of magazines and other types will be the key to the tablet, we’ll have to see how far Amazon manages to differentiate this one from all those other numerous Android tablets (or at least from Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color) by its content-centered approach. We’ll know them all in less than 24 hours. We hope the Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5 announcement doesn’t eclipse the Amazon’s tablet debut.
