Verizon’s Motorola Xoom LTE Gets Software Update HLK75D

Heads up Motorola Xoom owners, those of you who have already got the 4G LTE update form Motorola. Verizon has posted a couple of support documents regarding a new software update on its official website. A minor software update is waiting for your Motorola Xoom LTE tablet. According to the support page, the new firmware update will bring a set of connectivity bugs were addressed. It looks like the Verizon branded Xoom 4G LTE tablet is also getting updated Android Market, which is the same feature that was released through an OTA update (HTK75D) for Motorola Xoom’s Wi-Fi variant a few days ago. The updated Android Market feature matches up to the styling of the newest Market on Android phones. The new update is carrying the build number HLK75D. The improvements and changes contained within the HLK75D update are:

# Updated Android Market.
# Users won’t be seeing the error message (“Wrong Operator: SIM card is from an unknown source.”), when toggling between Airplane Mode.
# The Android Market shortcut on the homescreen works properly after performing an over-the-air (OTA) update.
# Upgraded Android Books app.
# Android Market updates automatically on it own.
# Android Market Terms and Condition text is now easier to read against background color.
# Improvements in browser security help to block rogue certificates.
# Enhancements to the 3G/4G data connection to help prevent data stalls.

If you’re a Motorola Xoom LTE owner that hasn’t had the 864KB update pushed to your tablet yet, you can try to manually pull it by going to Menu –> Settings –> About tablet –> System updates –> and follow the onscreen instructions to finish the upgrade process. After upgrading to the new software update, your tablet will show Android Honeycomb version 3.2.2 with build of HLK75D.
