HTC Thunderbolt Gets 2.11.605.5 RUU

In late September, Verizon has began rolling out the most awaited Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update for its HTC Thunderbolt handset, which was carrying the build number 2.11.605.3. But unfortunately, the official OTA Gingerbread update has also carried several bugs along with it. Due the last update, Google Talk Video haven’t worked. The last update broke notifications for voicemails. To fix these bugs of the last update, there is an update available for HTC Thunderbolt. A new RUU has leaked as build 2.11.605.5 and it can be flashed by on your HTC Thunderbolt handsets. Non-rooted Thunderbolt users can also give it a try. Just remember that this will wipe your device clean – you will lose everything.

HTC Thunderbolt users can download the 2.11.605.5 RUU Build from here (hit the link) and follow the following instructions to flash your handset.

# Download the RUU file from the above link and rename it to PG05IMG.zip.
# Drop the file onto the root of your SD card, meaning it is not in a folder.
# Power down your device.
# Hold Volume Down + Power to boot into the bootloader. (Quick boot from the market also works)
# Your phone should recognize the file. Follow the on-screen instructions.
# Once everything finishes, choose the option to reboot. Enjoy the new build and kill those annoying bugs!
