LG Revolution Gets Gingerbread Update VS910VZ7

Just a couple of days ago, Verizon has started rolling out the Gingerbread update for one of the LTE capable handsets, the HTC Thunderbolt. Now, another LTE capable handset is on line to get Gingerbread update. If you own a LG Revolution handset, it’s your turn now as the carrier has started pushing out the most awaited Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the masses. The manufacturer has said that the new software will be rolling out in phases. The latest update is carrying the new build number VS910VZ7 and it weighs in at 87.8 MB. You can find a few device-specific improvements and bug fixes included with this new firmware update down below.

# Folders will now be in the correct order.
# Users will be able to set an out-of-office status without needing to specify a time period.
# Turning on and off different connectivity options should now function properly when using Airplane mode.
# A menu-related crash situation has been fixed.
# Ability to save the messages to LTE SIM and these messages can be viewed through message Settings menu, “Manage SIM cars Messages.”
# The cursor has been reshaped for easier text editing.
# Addresses the problems involving proper connectivity through the HDMI cable.
# With email, attachments should now properly indicate their size.

The OTA update should be there waiting for you. You will be receiving a notification on your display panel to accept the update. If for some reason, if you want to pull it yourself, you can manually pull it down by going to Home –> Menu –> Settings –> About Phone –> System Updates –> Check New –> If a new Software Update available –> tap Ok button. Installation should start now –> Handset Reboots Automatically –> Tap the OK  button on screen –> Done. The Gingerbread flavor should be ready now to taste on your handset. After finishing the installation of the update, the software version should be shown as VS910VZ7. The entire update process should take about 10-15 minutes.
