Every carrier is rolling out software updates for their smartphones in order to keep them up-to-date with latest features and sort out various bug issues. Today is your day, the T-Mobile myTouch handsets’ owners! The carrier has officially announced that it has begun rolling out a new software update, bringing the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS with Software version bumped to 2.32.531.1. The update will contain the following features and improvements.
# Addition of the Google security update.
# Addition of Swype’s latest version.
# Additional of software improvements.
# Locate GPS.
# Fast Dormancy.
The update is rolling out via OTA (Over-The-Air) process and no manual update option is not available. Is your HTC-made T-Mobile myTouch has yet to see the new update? Don’t panic. T-Mobile has said that the update is still rolling out and the process will run all the way through January 23 to roll out to everyone and to make sure that every handset will get upgraded.
If you found the update notification ready on your handsets’ home screen –> hit Download button –> then tap Install Now button –> Follow the on-screen instruction to finish the upgrade process until the handset reboots and updates to Android 2.3.4 / Software version 2.32.531.1.
If the update hasn’t hit your handset yet, you can also try to manually check for the update by heading to Home –> Menu –> About Phone –> HTC Software Update –> and tap the Check button –> After receiving a notification that you received the update, hit Download button –> and tap Install Now button. But, keep in mind that the carrier has already confirmed that the network will not be able to manually push the software to the users who ask to receive it. Anyway, it would be a good idea to check the update manually to make sure you don’t miss it.
