We first heard about the Toshiba AT200 tablet in last September. Just a few hours ago, Toshiba has officially announced that the Toshiba AT200 tablet is set to be hitting the U.S. markets as Excite X10 in the mid of this quarter. The manufacturer is claiming that the Toshiba Excite X10 is the world’s thinnest and lightest tablet, measuring 3-inch thickness and weighing 1.2 pounds. But, the newly launched Lenovo IdeaTab S2 is also measuring the same 3" thickness and weighing 1.1 pounds. The tablet isn’t boasting any promising specifications, but it seems to be packing impressive specs. Here’s a look at the Toshiba Excite X10’s features list:

# Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS-ready.
# A 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor.
# 10.1-inch IPS display with 1280 X 800 pixels of resolution.
# 1GB of RAM,
# 5 MP rear camera and 1.3 MP front camera to shoot video calls.
# 16GB internal memory storage.
# microSD card slot for memory expansion support up to 32GB.
# Micro HDMI port, Micro USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 Wi-Fi b/g/n.

Toshiba promises an upgrade to a Android 4.0 ICE Cream Sandwich OS, but the manufacturer hasn’t committed to a timeline on that. In better news, Toshiba has also confirmed that Toshiba Thrive will hit the AT&T network with HSPA+ connectivity on the board, sharing the specs as that of the Wi-Fi only version, including the 10.1-inch display, NVidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and etc., pricing at $479.99 for the 16GB or $559.99 for the 32GB models.

Toshiba Excite X10 16GB (Wi-Fi edition) will be available to purchase for $529.99 and you also can get the 32GB edition for $599.99 sans the contract.
