During the CES event, NVidia has confirmed that Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update would be made available tonight for Asus Transformer Prime tablet. So, if you are an owner of Transformer Prime TF101 tablet, you should start checking in your system settings to check it. Asus has started rolling out the delicious Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update for your Transformer Prime tablet.
Along with 4.0.3 ICS update, Asus is also pushing out a camera firmware update. ICS on a tablet will be awesome. The tablet responds so much faster than Honeycomb build. After successfully upgraded to the latest firmware update, you will notice the following changes on your tablet:
# Improvement on browser experience.C
# Changes on the camera features, better pictures.
# Panorama option with the camera now.
# Stock browser will be synced with Google Chrome bookmarks.
# An addition of the screenshot app, a cool Task Manager widget.
# Graphic improvements.
# Google Voice is also seems to be working now, but it is doesn’t recognize word properly.
# The browser with Android 4.0.3 ICS is lightning fast now with much improvisation over Honeycomb.
Some users are reporting about the bars across the screen. ICS update isn’t carrying any bug fixes for Wi-Fi and GPS issues.
Asus transformer Prime users should be seeing the OTA (over-the-air) notification alerts on their home screens, asking them to accept the new firmware update. If the update fails to make its way to your Prime, you can try to pull the update by heading over to Settings –> About Tablet –> System Firmware Update and then press the Check for Updates button –> Accept it if the update found –>Follow the on-screen instructions and let finish the upgrade process –> The upgrade process should take 25 minutes (depends on Wi-Fi connectivity) –> Get an ice cream while it finishes –> That’s it –> ICS goodies should be ready now. Once the does hit your loving Asus Transformer Prime tablet, don’t forget to come back here and let us know how it’s working for you!
Note: Keep in mind that this update is breaking the root. So, you should first run OTA Rootkeeper client to avoid loosing the rooting access. Download the following files and get relax.
