Following the launch of its new education suite at Thursday morning’s Apple Education event, just a few hours ago, Apple has officially released a new update for its iTunes software – iTunes 10.5.3 for both Mac and Windows platforms.
Apple has stated that:
# iTunes 10.5.3 version adds support for synchronizing the iBooks 2-savvy textbooks format to your Apple iPad.
# These Multi-Touch textbooks are available for purchase from the iTunes Store on your Mac or from the iBookstore included with iBooks 2 on your iPad.
# iBooks textbooks are created with iBooks Author — now available as a free download on the Mac App Store

iTunes 10.5.3 is now available to download from Apple’s website. As of this writing, we are not seeing any signs of the software update for iTunes 10.5.3. iTunes 10.5.3 is a 102.15MB download for the Mac machines and it is weighing 66.11MB of size for 32-bit Windows, as well as 67.98MB of size for 64-bit Windows PC machines.
