Back in September, Huawei has launched its Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS running Honor smartphone. In late 2011, the manufacturer has rolled out an alpha version of the Android ICS OS for the Huawei Honor handset, giving us a good indication of Android ICS update in the near future. Yesterday, in China, Huawei and China Telecom have released a new version of the Honor handset, running the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS on board. The newly announced Huawei Honor handset is a white colored variant.
The manufacturer has announced that the Android 4.0 ICS running Huawei Honor White handset will be available to purchase in early February at Chinese markets. There is no word on the launch details of the new version of the Huawei Honor handset for the rest of the world. But, we can say that an update of Ice Cream Sandwich OS should be rolled out very soon for your devices, who bought the Huawei Honor handset with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board.
The newly announced Huawei Honor White handset is really the same exact Huawei Honor that was released back in September, only it does come pre-loaded with Android 4.0 ICS OS. The basic features of the Huawei Honor handset are as follows:
