Back in January, Sprint rolled out software updates for its HTC EVO 4G, HTC EVO Design 4G, Samsung Epic 4G and Samsung Epic 4G Touch handsets. Now, the carrier has decided to update another handset with new software builds. Sprint has started pushing out a new firmware update for HTC EVO Shift 4G handsets. The new software version is 2.77.651.3. The new software update brings the following changes to the system of the HTC EVO Shift 4G handsets:
# A couple of bug fixes, software tweaks.
# Security enhancements.
# A new version of Peep – HTC’s Twitter client.
# Improved battery life.

The OTA update is being rolled out in waves. You will start receiving the update at any time. Meanwhile, you can force the update by hitting Menu –> Settings –> System updates –> HTC software update and Tap Check now button –> If any updates is available –> Accept and Download it –> Follow the instructions to install it successfully –> the software version should be shown as 2.77.651.3 after the completing the installation process.
