A new OTA update has leaked via “Cheesecake” for the Droid Bionic and the software version is being referred as 5.9.905.XT875. No, this is not Ice Cream Sandwich update. The Android OS version stays on Gingerbread (v2.3.4). In late April, Motorola Feedback Network sent out Droid Bionic soak test invites and the build number was supposed to be 5.9.904 for the next update.

At the moment, no one’s quite sure when the Ice Cream Sandwich update will be out for the Bionic. It looks like the device will be getting at least one more maintenance update before making the jump to ICS. According to the carrier’s timeline for updates, the ICS update should begin rollout in 3rd quarter of this year.
