As we get closer and closer to the launch moment of the the next version of the Apple iPhone handset, several rumors, leaks and reports are piling up. The new iPhone 5 (or whatever it will be called) is expected to be officially announced by the Cupertino company in October and it is rumored to have a bigger screen (the iPhone 4S has 3.5-inches screen). Several reports are suggesting that the new iPhone 5 will ship with major improvements in both design and software.
According to the latest reports, Apple is currently working on two designs codenamed N41AP (or iPhone 5,1) and N42AP (iPhone 5,2). Reportedly, the new iPhone 5 is expected to have a 3.95-inch display. In fact, this is not the first time we are hearing about the 4-inch display for next iPhone. But this, we’ve some exciting news that iPhone 5 will sport a 3.9-inch display with 1136 X 640 pixels resolution. Current models have 640 x 960 pixels of resolution. The new screens will add a total of 176 new pixels to the height of the display. Recent Android phones such as Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC One X are having 1280X720 pixels of resolution. Previous rumors also claiming that iPhone 5 will have 4.6-inch Retina display. Apple is “currently testing builds of iOS 6 that are custom-built to the new iPhone’s display.”
It is also being heard that next iPhone will sport an aspect ratio of 16:9 (compared to the current 3:2 one) and the larger display will also get an additional line of icons above the docked ones. It will be also also equipped with a smaller dock connector and is also expected to feature the physical home button in the mall size at the bottom side of the device. According to the previous rumors, the next iPhone is expected to be powered by a quad-core processor, 8MP rear-facing camera plus a front-facer, upgraded memory, 4G LTE capability
