Sprint's Samsung Intercept To Get Froyo

Sprint yesterday announced on its support forums that users of the Samsung Intercept can expect to see an update, which is available now. The Android 2.2 Froyo update will be rolling out to their handsets in the coming days. Android 2.2 Froyo includes a number of new features for the Intercept by Sprint include:

Enhancements/Fixes

– Android 2.2 Froyo
– Sprint Navigation
– Dropped calls after unacknowledged call waiting
– Force Close message when opening up contacts

Important Notes

-The software version is: S:M910.05.S.DL05
-The build version is: Froyo.DL05

Sprint stated that this release may be released in waves, and users should be receiving it over next several days. so you may not see it on your device immediately. The Intercept is also on Virgin Mobile and it is nice to see that it is getting Froyo before the Samsung Epic.

To update the software, users can go to Settings>About phone>System updates>Update Firmware or Update Android and to check the version go to Settings>About phone, here the software version will be listed under the BaseBand version. For more info, go to Sprint’s support forums.
