Sony Ericsson to introduce new Xperia Handsets at MWC 2011

Sony Ericsson's MWC Invite for New Xperia Family

The invite from Sony Ericsson for its MWC 2011 press event is already out. Sony Ericsson has officially confirmed that it will be demonstrating its new range of Xperia handsets in the Mobile World Congress(MWC) in next February, 2011. The above event invitation is confirming that we will be meeting “new members of the Xperia family”. Iam sure that SE wont be dropping Android 1.6 powered handsets again as they are doing the same over the past year. Hope that trendy woman in invitation is holding some high end powered handset in her hand and the new family of Xperia smartphones could be running on the Android’s latest Gingerbread OS version.

Xperia X12 aka ANZU is one of the likely device to be launched, which is rumoured from the past several months. This handset might be having Android 2.3, with a 4.2-inch touchscreen and a Snapdragon application processor, an 8 Megapixels camera with 720p video recording capability, HDMI output, and 802.11n Wi-Fi. But you may also know that Sony Ericsson is having Play Station Phone(aka Xperia Play or Zeus Z1) other than its ‘Xperia family’ in store, for which everybody is eagerly waiting for. It is also being rumoured that Sony Ericsson might be launching its first PlayStation-friendly phone at CES next month. The document does not provide any hints regarding the identity of the upcoming devices.

According to sources, Sony Ericsson has already filed trademarks for the names Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo and Xperia Duo. Sony Ericsson will be holding their press event on 13th February at 18.00 in Barcelona. So make a mark in your diary and keep waiting for it.
