After announcing the much awaited iPhone 5, new iPod touch and refreshed iPad nano and after detailing the new features of iOS 6 platform, Apple has started seeding the iOS 6 Golden Master (GM) version for its registered iOS developers. The new build umber for the iOS 6 GM is 10A403. iOS 6 GM is now available to download straight form Apple’s iOS Dev Center by signing in with developer credentials for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, first-gen iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3 (The New iPad), iPod Touch 4th generation and iPod Touch 3rd generation devices. At its media event, Apple has confirmed that iOS 6 will be released to the public on September 19th. The update to iOS 5 will be free for all the iOS users.
The developers are required to use this iOS 6 Golden Master version to submit their iOS apps, which will be compatible with iOS 6. Developers can check for the important update notices on the developer forums and they can also find the installation alerts in a big yellow box on the iOS dev page.
Apple’s new iOS 6 will bring Siri improvements, PassBook app, Facebook integration in everything, Apple’s own Maps, Maps with Siri integration, Maps with Flyover, Sared Photo Streams, Safari with offline reading and many more. Now that the Gold Master has dropped, non-developers can look forward to the full version which will arrive on September 19th, as Apple promised. iOS 6 will be available for the iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, new iPad, iPad 2 and 4th generation iPod Touch and it will come preinstalled with the new iPhone 5 and the new iPod Touch devices.
