This is the great thing about Asus. If the manufacturer promises to give the taste of their latest OS, they would stick to their promises. Earlier, they posted on their official Facebook page that the Jelly Bean update would be coming to the Transformer Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity tablets and asked the users to stay tuned for further updates. Some reliable sources have also reported that the JB update should start hitting within 72 hours. Just a few hours ago, Asus has released the changelog of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Prime And Pad Infinity tablets. The update also brings the new build number v10.4.2.15.
Here’s what Asus has to ay about new changes of the next firmware update:
- # Upgrade OS from Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
- # Default enable System Bar Lock
- # Add Multiple Photo Selection feature
- # Support Connect Dock (Accessory)
- # Remove Adobe Flash support
- # Remove Wi-Fi Direct function support
- # Remove Press Reader (still can be downloaded from the Google Play Store)
However, the Flash Player can be downloaded from Adobe’s official website. Asus has also noted that they will begin rolling out the Jelly Bean update for the Prime tablet and Pad Infinity tablets in the U.S. on September 27th (today) and September 28th respectively. The manufacturer is already rolling out the Jelly Bean update for the lucky Prime TF201 users in Sweden. So, Asus is keep continuing to embarrass all other OEMs (such as Samsung, Motorola, Acer, Sony) with their update schedule. ASUS has previously noted that the JB update won’t support Adobe Flash, and Wi-Fi direct will be removed.
