Asus Transformer Prime Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

Just a few hours ago, Asus promised to deliver the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Prime TF201 and Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 tablets in the coming hours. While the Transformer Pad TF300 tablet already received its JB treat as scheduled, now it’s time for the Transformer Prime. According to the reports from the XDA Developer Forum, Prime’s update to Android 4.1 is now available for download in the U.S. and Spain. So, finally Asus turns the switch on the platform refresh roll-out. The lucky users that’ve already received hold of the update say that it bumped them up to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The update will bring the One S to software version v10.4.2.15. Currently, the update is hitting devices in stages, so it may not be available in your area immediately. You might want to check for the update yourself, if you doesn’t feel like waiting for the update to make its way to your tablet, and you can manually check it by heading into Settings > About Tablet > Software updates > Check now on your tablet.

Here’s Asus’s full changelog for the update:

  • # Default enable System Bar Lock
  • # Add Multiple Photo Selection feature
  • # Support Connect Dock (Accessory)
  • # Remove Adobe Flash support
  • # Remove Wi-Fi Direct function support
  • # Remove Press Reader (still can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for free)

  • My ‘System Firmware Update’ has the ‘Check Update’ invisible. But I did see I’m advised to ‘update available, go to notifications’. How can you tell when an update is actually available and where is my ‘notifications’?
