Finally, we’ve a concrete date for the new Motorola DROID RAZR HD duo on the Big Red network in the United States. In early October, both the handsets have been officially unveiled by Verizon, including the Motorola Droid RAZR M, which went up for sale immediately. Today, Verizon has officially confirmed that it will begin selling both the 4G LTE capable Motorola DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD handsets on October 18th. The 16GB Droid RAZR HD goes for $199.99, while the 32GB Droid RAZR HD MAXX with 3300mAh battery will be available for $299.99 and the users are required to sign a two-year contract with the carrier. Yesterday, Rogers started selling the Motorola RAZR HD LTE in Canada for just $99 on contract.

If you need a specs refresher, the Moto Droid RAZR HD is only 8.4 millimeters thick, boasting a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD screen with purportedly 85% more color saturation than an iPhone 4S and it has got Gorilla Glass protection. It has got a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 8MP camera on back side to record 1080p HD videos and it can perform NFC operations, packing a 2500mAh battery, with 16 hours of rated talk time. It runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, and should be upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly bean by the end of this year, as promised by the manufacturer earlier.

Droid RAZR HD MAXX (available in black edition only) sports all the same features of the RAZR HD, except a moderately-size battery of 3300mAh capacity, which can last up to 32 hours of use on a single charge and will ship with 32GB of storage for all the media you want to keep, as well as a microSD card slot.
