How To Root Droid RAZR M, Droid RAZR HD and RAZR i

Most of the Android handsets’ users want to get their devices rooted, so that they can do a lot with them and OEM or the carrier can’t stop them. So, if you were thinking about picking up a new Motorola Droid phone, rooting it and throwing your favorite ROM on it easily, we’ve some good news for you. Thanks to Dan Rosenberg. He has posted a a root exploit that will work on the Motorola DROID RAZR M, DROID RAZR HD (and most probably the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD), Motorola Atrix HD, and Motorola Photon Q handsets.

Intel chipset powered Motorola RAZR i has also got its root treatment. Yes, this root method can be implemented on the aforementioned Motorola handsets, which are running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich build.

Before you get started, you need to download the .zip file form the following link. Don’t forget to perform a factory reset before proceeding:

# Install the latest Motorola drivers on your PC
# Drop the downloaded .ZIP file on your Windows PC
# Now run the ‘run.bat’ file
# Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the rooting process.
# That’s it. Done.

According to the reports, this root exploit also works on the recently leaked Jelly Bean update that Motorola is working on.
