Sprint has failed to upgrade reputation when it comes to Android software updates. Sprint was about to give its festive treat Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade on the day after Christmas on 26th December to its Samsung Epic 4G customers. But that day has come and gone and they couldn’t materialize that. A newly leaked internal message to Sprint’s boys and girls is confirming that any specific date hasn’t been decided yet for the Froyo upgrade on Epic 4G.
Android 2.2 Froyo is by now lacking freshness, with the recently launched and much fresher Android 2.3 Gingerbread. But Sprint has put the update ‘on hold’ and will be upgrading ‘in the near future’ and they dont’ have a reason for the Froyo update delay on the Epic 4G. The issue of getting Android 2.2 Froyo on Galaxy S phones has been disorderly fighting and Samsung is very bad at updating their hardware.
When Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S handsets in this past June and said they would update them to Android 2.2 and every Android fan is having many expectations that these Froyo updates would roll out since this September, but Sprint & Samsung couldn’t make it till now. Lets hope that Samsung and its network carriers will be able to solve it soon. And these situations are also proving that all the Samsung Galaxy S handsets won’t be having Froyo treat in 2010.
