Employees deliberately throws, drops iPads at Kentucky Walmart

Yesterday, four Walmart employees filmed themselves throwing boxes containing iPad across the stockroom just for fun. The throwing and dropping of the iPads happened at a Walmart in Pikeville, Kentucky.

The video was used by the employees to make a “This is why you don’t buy an iPad from Walmart” YouTube video(shown below). The video, nearly 50 seconds long showed them throwing the boxes containing iPad in the air while preparing for sale. One employee also deliberately dropped a box containing iPad on the floor while carelessly throwing it to another employee to a far distance away inside the stockroom.

It is presumable from the video that the main purpose for their activities weren’t to enhance the process of preparing the iPads for sale in today’s competitive market. The act was really influenced by their intention to destroy the iPads, therefore endangering Walmart’s precious reputation. It is an unabashed and stupid destruction of technology.

The retailer has already fired the employees and a Walmart spokesperson cited “We were extremely disappointed to see such disregard for our customers and products. We are currently conducting an internal investigation and will be taking the necessary disciplinary actions. We’d like to reassure our customers that we are inspecting our electronic merchandise inventory and stand behind the products we sell. If there is an issue with a product you purchase at any location, it will be replaced or you will be refunded.”

Reddit user ‘SenoirPierre’ said that the video was given to him by a person who worked at the store.
