LG MS870/LW870 with Android 4.0 Coming to metroPCS, Cricket Wireless

LG MS870 leaked photo

Today, we heard that South Korean mobile manufacturer, LG has supposedly sent its new Android smartphone to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for approval and the device would be heading to MetroPCS and Cricket Wireless.

The official name is not yet available for this device but we have its model numbers: MetroPCS will have an “MS” prefix MS870 and for Cricket Wireless will have an “LW” prefix LW870.

The leaked photo of the LG MS870 indicates that the device’s screen is big as the Samsung Galaxy S III. It is expected that the device will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chip and will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and in terms of connectivity; it will support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE and more. The battery is said to have 2,150mAh that could power this device at least, 6 hours of battery life.

If the device is supposed to be heading to MetroPCS and Cricket Wireless, we expect that you don’t need to sign an agreement to get the device with the carrier, so you can choose any network. MetroPCS and Cricket Wireless are pre-paid cell phone companies offering affordable smartphone and cellular plans without a signed contract. Last week, Cricket Communications announced its first premium 4G LTE smartphone, the LG Optimus Regard and they had started offering the device from November 14 without contract. In late-October, MetroPCS also started offering the Samsung Galaxy S III for $499 without contract.

We don’t have information regarding its availability and pricing, but we hope that the LG MS870/LW870 will be released in the near future.
