Microsoft plans to fix Windows Phone 8 random reboots in December

Windows Phone 8 HTC handsets

Just after Microsoft launched their Windows Phone 8 Operating system, Windows Phone users from both Nokia and HTC have been reporting issues with random reboots on their handsets. Now, Microsoft has confirmed that they have identified the cause of the problem and they will deliver an Over-the-air (OTA) update to fix the problem.

Last week, we reported that in a thread over at WPCentral with more than 143 replies, many HTC Windows Phone 8X users have been reporting issues of randomly rebooting numerous times while in use. Besides the HTC 8X users, Nokia Lumia 920 users also complained about reboots and mobile phone freeze issues on Nokia’s support forums. Again another thread at Microsoft’s own support forums gained many replies complaining their problem with Nokia user’s issues.

Though Microsoft have found out the cause of the problem, they didn’t reveal the specific information, nor whether the issue is related to certain models or related to all Windows Phone 8 devices. Microsoft said in a statement “We’re continuing to investigate some reports of phones rebooting and have identified a cause with our partners. We are working to get an over-the-air update out in December.”

We are sure that many Windows Phone 8 users will be happy to hear that Microsoft will fix their issues. We’ll let you know as soon as we get more information regarding this update.
