This time, on the New Year’s eve, AT&T doesn’t come with a new smartphone release details, but it came with a powerful 10-minute documentary with an useful ‘Anti-Texting On Smartphone While Driving’ message. AT&T is joining in the fight to educate people, especially Young Teens about the dangers of texting while driving a vehicle by introducing this documentary with the slogan: “Texting & Driving: It Can Wait.” This documentary will explain dangers when you text while driving. This video is just a clear reminder on how texting, calling or any distractions from your smartphone that can actually ‘kill’ you.
AT&T’s documentary consists of real-life stories of those who have suffered a life changing incident when they were texting while driving their vehicles. Studies are showing that you are 23 times more likely to be affected in an accident when texting and driving and your precious life will be permanently altered in the hospital or in a jail if someone gets injured or died because of you or else your text message could be ‘Last Text’ just like in the above image.
Earlier 2010, a law enforcement introduced and it became illegal for bus drivers and truck drivers to text while driving the vehicles in US, they will get a long period death sentence if they caught texting and driving. But the problem is with the young generation only, who don’t care about all these laws. Texting while driving is just like closing your eyes and texting on your touch phones.
So please put down your phone and drive until you reach your destination and. The AT&T documentary, “The Last Text” is about 11 minutes long only. So watch the below video with your belongings and do not forget to share it to others.

I think this effort by AT&T will help drivers get the message. It has to start with the end user, the driver…deciding not to partake in distracted driving and this will help drive that message home.
I also decided to do something about teen (and adult) distracted driving after my three year old daughter was nearly run down right in front of me by a texting driver. Instead of a shackle that locks down phones and alienates the user (especially teens) I built a tool for teens and their parents called OTTER that is a simple, GPS based, texting auto reply app for smartphones. It also silences call ringtones while driving unless you have a bluetooth enabled. I think if we can empower the individual then change will come to our highways now and not just our laws.
