Sony has added another phone to its Android phones line-up. This time, it’s a low-end spec’d Sony Xperia E handset. It is indeed a notable Android phone to take a look for, although it is carrying low-end hardware and affordable price tag. Sony will also release a Dual-SIM version of the Xperia E handset, called ‘Xperia dual’ and it will allow for easy switching between two carriers.
The good news is that it will boot Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS out of the box and it has also got some unique features such as a special extended stand-by mode designed to increase overall battery life. Sony says that “when the screen has been in sleep mode for a few minutes, Wi-Fi and data traffic will be disabled and most applications will be inactive to save battery life”.
One of the highlight features of the Xperia E handset is HD Voice, and it will provide Sony’s exclusive "Walkman" music experience, as well as the xLOUD sound technology. Sony Xperia E packs 3.5” HVGA (320×480 pixels) display, 1GHz Qualcomm single-core processor, 512MB RAM, 3.2MP camera on back side to record VGA videos, and there’s also a VGA camera on front side for making video calls. It has also got all other suspects including HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, micro USB 2.0, 3.5mm headset jack, microSD card slot for memory expansion support, and more. Here are the full specifications.
Sony will begin selling the Xperia E sometime in early 2013 and color options are including black, white, and pink. Xperia SE Dual will be available in black and gold editions.
