4.7-inch HTC M7 1080p Phone

We actually first heard about the upcoming HTC M7 earlier this month, but we now have full details. Previous leak has mentioned the HTC M7 handset with a massive 5-inch 1080p display, just like the HTC Droid DNA handset. The folks over Unwiredview have gotten their hands on the leaked document, detailing the specifications of the unannounced HTC M7 handset, which is being referred as the successor of the HTC One X+ handset. According to the doc, it will have a 4.7-inch display with 1080p (1920 by 1080 pixels) resolution., making it one of the first 1080p handsets with 4.7” screen.

HTC is using something new term called “SoLux” display tech for this handset. If you remember, HTC has used Super LCD3 display tech for the Droid DNA/Butterfly handset. Based on its display size, it should come with an estimated pixel density of 468ppi.

The HTC M7 comes with 2GB RAM and a Snapdragon quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. That’s a big improvement if we consider Droid DNA’s 1.5GHz chipset design. There will be a massive 13 megapixel camera on the back side with larger f/2.0 aperture and “Cinesensor” software along with slow-motion video capture, and HDR video recording. Up front, it has got a 2MP HD camera, which is capable of taking 1080p videos.

The leak has also mentioned that HTC M7 boots Android Jelly Bean out of the box and it is expected to have new version of Sense UI (Sense 4+ is the current version). We guess it will be announced with Android 4.2 JB. Many of you may already know that Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM variants) are the only handsets that rocking Android 4.2 build in the smartphone world right now.

The remaining specs are including Beats audio amplifier, LTE connectivity, 42Mbps HSDPA radio, stereo speakers, 802.11 Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, a massive 2,300mAh battery and 32GB onboard storage.

The source has mentioned HTC M7 is set to arrive on Verizon and Sprint networks and it may also hit all the 4 major carriers in the United States. You can expect it to be showcased at the Mobile World Congress show in 2013.
