There’s no doubt that we will see more 5-inch 1080p Android phones in next year. In 2013, We’ve seen high-end Android phones with 4.7-inch 720p HD displays, as well as 5-inch displays with 1080p resolution. HTC Butterfly / J Butterfly (for Japan) / Droid DNA was the first 5-inch 1080p Android phone. A couple of days ago, ZTE has officially announced its 5-inch Nubia Z5 phablet. ZTE has added another phablet to its Android line-up.

The Chinese manufacturer has showcased the new Grand S with a 5-inch FHD (1920×1080 pixels) display, which has got gorgeous design. One of the key parts of this device is its ceramic material-made 6.9mm thin chassis, making it easier for user to hold this beast in a single hand. ZTE has confirmed it will pack a 13 megapixel shooter on the back side. Other rumored specifications of the Grand S are Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, microSD card slot, 2GB of RAM, and it will backed up by a 2,500mAh battery.

Newly launched ZTE Nubia Z5 phablet is also sporting the same hardware specifications. The only major deference in both handsets you will see is 6.99mm thin chasis on Grand S. Rumor has it that ZTE Grand S will make its way to U.S. and it also rumored to be priced at 2,799 yuan (that’s approx. $499), which is cheaper than Nubia Z5’s price tag ($555). We will know more information once ZTE launches it at CES 2013 event in Las Vegas on January 8th.
